Vintage Fabric Ham & Sausage

Handmade Tailor's Ham & Sausage

Recently I made up a tailor’s ham and sausage using the free pattern by Kristiann Boos available from Tilly and the Buttons. I used some of a vintage fabric that I picked up (for £1) while in Brighton. Given that it is a vintage fabric and a little more delicate I stabilised it with interfacing before sewing it together.

In order to personalise it and make it more unique I printed an image on the front of each. I especially like the little pig.

I also put some of the fabric to use making peg bags. These are based roughly on a Cath Kidston pattern from the book Sew. I modified the pattern – using French seams around the edges of the bags for extra strength in place of bias binding.

Craft Fair Makes

Below are some of the textile items I made for the charity craft fair me and colleagues organised which took place a couple of weeks ago. The peg-bags were based on a Cath Kidston pattern and the little elephant brooches were based on a pattern in Mollie Makes magazine.

A weekend all sewn up

Phew, I finally finished some items to sell at the charity craft fair we’re organising. I need to make a lot more to help fill the stall but at least it’s a start.

I ran out of toy stuffing after filling my doll’s head, but luckily my Nan had a bag so I was able to get her finished. She ended up looking a bit bossy!
