Me Made May Week 1

This is my first year participating in Me Made May. Last May I only had a couple of handmade clothing items in my wardrobe so it wasn’t feasible to take part. It shows how much I’ve sewn in the last year that I felt pretty comfortable committing to wear one handmade item each day this May.

Yippee, this will be my first MMM!
‘I, Charlotte at https://englishgirlathome.com/, sign up as a participant of Me-Made-May ’14. I endeavour to wear one handmade item each day for the duration of May 2014’

I did keep my pledge fairly vague with the term ‘item’ as I may rely on a few handmade accessories. Maybe next year I’ll aim for fully handmade outfits as I still need to mix in quite a bit of RTW clothing currently.

Week one has been a mixture of dressing up days & slobbing around the house days.

I purchased the large men’s t-shirt that was today’s MMM contribution some time ago but hadn’t gotten around to resizing it. Spurred on my MMM I whipped it through my overlocker this morning and had another outfit option. Here’s a close-up of the awesome print.

  1. That’s a great start to your MMM! The Marian Martin dress is really gorgeous and that surf print is amazing – what a find!

    • Thank you! That tee has been in the back of my wardrobe for at least 6 months & the dress has needed hemming for ages so MMM has already gotten me finishing UFOs.
